Job Summary: The Infusion Nurse is responsible for providing evidence-based care to patients receiving long-term antibiotics and other intravenous treatments. This role requires close collaboration with nurses in the infusion suite and other healthcare professionals, including intake coordinators, physicians, and pharmacists, to ensure the highest standards of patient care while maintaining compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
- Oversee and participate in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Ensure infusion therapies are administered safely according to established protocols.
- Manage complex infusion cases, including troubleshooting and resolving treatment-related issues.
- Educate patients and caregivers on infusion therapies, side effects, and post-treatment care.
- Perform central venous access device site care, including sterile dressing changes, line maintenance, and lab draws in coordination with external laboratory companies.
Collaboration:
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Work with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals, to optimize patient outcomes.
- Act as a liaison between nursing staff and other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
- Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, and other collaborative activities.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Current and unrestricted RN license in Texas required.
Experience:
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience.
- Infusion experience preferred.
Skills:
- Strong clinical skills in infusion therapy, including IV medication administration and care of intravenous access devices using aseptic and sterile techniques.
- Strong peripheral IV start skills.
- Proficiency in PICC line discontinuation per safety and facility standards.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare technology.
Work Environment:
- Standard office environment within a healthcare clinic setting.
- Regular interaction with healthcare providers, administrative staff, patients, and insurance companies.

Pay: $42.00 - $45.00 per hour
