Lead Our New Commercial Service Division
Regency Plumbing & Piping, Inc. has served the healthcare, laboratory, and institutional markets since 1952. We are establishing a dedicated commercial service division to support these facilities and are seeking an experienced Plumbing Service Manager to lead it.
This is a senior operational position with full accountability for the division's schedule, workmanship, profitability, and personnel. The division's direction and operating framework are established. The Service Manager is responsible for executing them in the field, maintaining standards, and advising leadership when conditions warrant a change.
The role requires substantial field involvement. During the division's initial phase, the Service Manager will personally handle service calls, scheduling, and customer quoting. As staffing expands, the emphasis shifts toward technician development and division oversight, though field presence remains a permanent expectation of the position.
Why Regency
- Seventy-four years of continuous operation in a specialty market that remains steady when general construction slows
- An established contractor with the resources and reputation to support a new division properly
- Technically demanding work in active healthcare and laboratory facilities
- Direct access to leadership and a short decision-making chain
- A defined growth path as the division expands
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage all active service jobs from initiation through completion
- Supervise and support service technicians
- Direct day-to-day operations of the service division
- Coordinate scheduling and dispatch — right tech, right job, right sequence
- Develop job layouts and communicate scope details to the team
- Monitor job costs and sold hours to ensure profitability standards are met
- Build and grow service agreements and preventive maintenance contracts
- Run daily service briefings and lead team meetings
Secondary Responsibilities
- Conduct technician training and coaching
- Handle escalated customer concerns professionally
- Maintain shop cleanliness and organization
- Inventory and parts management
- Special order parts and deliveries
- Truck stock standards and audits
- Vehicle and equipment maintenance oversight
- Manage fuel cards and purchase cards
This Is Not an Office-Only Role
You will be in the field regularly — this is a working leadership position, not a desk job. You must be comfortable:
- Presenting and selling service solutions to facility managers, engineers, and building owners
- Diagnosing water, sewer, and gas systems
- Running service calls yourself when coverage requires it
- Supporting technicians in the field when needed
- Working in and around occupied healthcare, laboratory, and institutional facilities
- Securing purchase orders and written authorization before work proceeds
- Making real-time operational decisions
What We're Looking For
- Strong commercial plumbing background — you can diagnose water, waste, and gas systems yourself
- Leadership experience supervising technicians and holding people accountable
- Sales or service advising background; comfortable closing work with facility decision-makers
- Job costing awareness — you can read a job and explain where the margin went
- Comfortable with CRM / field service software and spreadsheets
- Valid driver's license — operating company vehicles is an essential function of this role
Pay & Benefits
- Salary: $80,000–$120,000/yr, depending on experience
- Profit sharing
- 401(k) with company match
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid time off (PTO)
