Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to create a positive shopping experience
- Assist customers in selecting products, answer questions, and offer personalized recommendations to meet their needs
- Conduct product demonstrations to highlight features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and ensure shelves are stocked with current inventory
- Manage stock levels by stocking shelves, processing shipments, and organizing backroom inventory efficiently
- Follow phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
Skills
- Proven experience in retail sales or customer service environments, preferably in grocery stores or similar settings
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers in bilingual settings if applicable
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic retail math for accurate transactions
- Ability to perform merchandising tasks such as product demos, stocking, and visual displays effectively
- Supervising experience is a plus for those interested in leadership growth within the store team
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to handle customer inquiries professionally
