Duties
- Travel to clients’ homes or designated locations with all necessary grooming equipment and supplies
- Perform pet grooming services including bathing, brushing, hair trimming, pet coat styling, nail trimming, and ear cleaning
- Handle animals safely and compassionately using animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and safety during grooming
- Communicate clearly with pet owners about grooming needs, preferences, and aftercare instructions
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on-site, including sanitizing tools and equipment after each appointment
- Assist with pet care tasks such as veterinary-related procedures or administering medications if qualified
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client questions and ensuring a positive grooming experience
Skills
- Proven experience in pet grooming with a focus on coat styling and pet nail trimming
- Strong animal handling skills, including dog training, dog handling, animal restraint, and general animal care
- Veterinary experience or background as a veterinary technician or assistant is highly desirable
- Knowledge of pet health and safety protocols, including kennel experience and heavy lifting capabilities for equipment or pets
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners professionally and empathetically
- Ability to perform pet sitting duties as needed during appointments or emergencies
- Familiarity with animal handling across various species such as dogs, cats, horses (equine experience is a plus)
- Customer service orientation with a friendly attitude that builds trust with clients
