Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead our facilities maintenance team in ensuring the optimal operation, safety, and reliability of our mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee comprehensive maintenance activities across our facilities, manage maintenance repair procedures, and implement safety regulations aligned with OSHA standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, technical expertise in industrial maintenance, and proficiency in managing facilities management systems to drive efficiency and uphold the highest safety standards.
Major Duties: The supervisor oversees the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all production equipment and facility systems, maximizing production and utility systems operability and reliability in a food-manufacturing environment.
Leads a team of maintenance technicians responsible for equipment uptime, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and compliance with food safety and regulatory standards. The role ensures production lines run efficiently, equipment failures are resolved quickly, and maintenance programs support plant productivity and safety.
Leads hands-on technical response during equipment failures to minimize downtime.
Prioritizes Work:
As directed by their manager.
Supervises maintenance and contract labor to maximize uptime, in food manufacturing utilizing monorail systems.
Assign tasks and prioritizes work based on skill and production needs.
Train staff on troubleshooting, safety procedures, and proper work methods.
Maintains a daily record of uptime.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, and spare-parts inventory, including maintenance related performance metrics.
Mentoring and Support: Provides guidance and insight to management, junior technicians and maintenance trainees regarding equipment repair, replacement, installation and maintenance.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
5 years hands on experience in this or a related field.
Education – Two years technical training relevant to maintenance - supervision. i.e. Associates degree, certification etc.
Communication skills, able to professionally collaborate with technical support, colleges and management.
Technical understanding-working knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical drives, vacuum and compressed air systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, prints, and specifications.
CMMS proficiency (e.g., UpKeep).
Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis capability.
Work Environment:
Works in an environmentally controlled food processing plant.
Requires physical presence on site.
