American Traveler is hiring a RN for a PCU Float position requiring GA or Compact RN license and PCU/MS/Tele float experience.
-
Hospital-based PCU Float pool position
-
Float required to all MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units within the hospital
-
Adult to geriatric patient population
-
Patient ratios of 1:4-5 on PCU and 1:5-6 on MS/MS Tele units
-
12-hour day shifts, 3x12, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
-
Every other weekend required (approximately 6 weekends in a 13-week contract)
-
No on-call requirements
-
Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR charting/documentation systems
-
Navy blue scrubs required
-
Active GA or Compact RN license required
-
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
-
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
-
Epic charting experience required
-
Experience with MS, MS/Tele, and PCU patient populations preferred
-
Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
-
Previous charge experience preferred
-
Provide direct patient care across MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units as part of a float pool team
-
Skills utilized may include IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, wound care, and cardiac drip management

Care for patients requiring respiratory support such as BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract

Holiday coverage required based on assignment length: 1 major holiday requires working that holiday, 2 major holidays requires working both, and 3 major holidays requires working 2 of the 3

Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate

Previous perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before applying as a traveler
-
Travelers previously cancelled or DNR'd must complete one assignment outside the health system before reapplying
