MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
Education: Minimum of an Infant/Toddler Child Development Associates (CDA) is required.
Experience: Minimum of 6 months classroom experience and ensuring a safe learning environment.
PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE AND JOB KNOWLEDGE:
- Ability to adapt curriculum to meet the needs of all children.
- Ability to apply Early Childhood Development theory in daily classroom activities, and adapt to the individual needs of children.
- Ability to monitor and guide classroom staff.
- Ability to supervise and ensure a safe learning environment for children.
- Knowledge of typical behaviors/expectations of infants and toddlers.
- Willingness to continue professional growth through continued education.
- Working knowledge of available community resources.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Must pass a criminal background investigation upon hire and every five years as needed, including fingerprinting.
- Pass a physical examination upon hire.
- Current first aid and CPR certifications (will train).
- Ongoing professional development and annual training hours as required by the program and/or department director. These may be scheduled outside of regular work hours to accommodate program needs.
