Position Overview
This role works the front of house in a retail based environment in the home improvement space. On top of salary, there are also spiffs and commissions of 3% on sales. This person tends to make 75K+ in first year
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and manage the showroom sales team, ensuring strong product knowledge, customer engagement, and consistent sales performance
- Set and monitor sales goals, pricing strategies, and revenue targets for the location
- Review and approve quotes, discounts, special pricing, and large transactions generated by the sales team
- Train staff on flooring, carpet, and related product lines to ensure expert-level customer guidance
- Develop a culture of accountability, professionalism, and customer-first service
Showroom & Front-of-House Operations
- Oversee day-to-day showroom operations, ensuring smooth workflow between sales, purchasing, and fulfillment
- Manage scheduling, floor coverage, and staff productivity
- Ensure the showroom floor remains well-organized, visually appealing, and properly merchandised
Inventory Strategy & Pricing
- Own inventory management for the location, ensuring the correct product mix across price points
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with purchasing to maximize product availability and minimize excess inventory
- Analyze sales trends to adjust inventory levels and maintain optimal turnover
- Implement pricing strategies to remain competitive while protecting margins
Inventory Control & Operational Oversight
- Establish and enforce inventory control procedures to reduce shrinkage and errors
- Approve purchase orders, inventory adjustments, and transfers
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliation
- Ensure operational compliance with company policies and financial controls
Performance & Profitability
- Monitor key performance indicators including sales volume, margins, inventory turnover, and team productivity
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer experience
- Collaborate with ownership or senior leadership to develop strategies for location growth
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in flooring, carpet, home improvement retail, or building materials sales leadership
- Proven experience managing sales teams and retail showroom operations
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, pricing strategies, and margin optimization
- Experience approving quotes, pricing adjustments, and managing sales pipelines
- Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to balance sales leadership with operational oversight
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
MUST HAVE Experience
- Background in flooring, tile, carpet, or home renovation product sales
- Experience managing high-volume showroom environments
- Familiarity with inventory systems or retail ERP platforms
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
