Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision and flair
- Engage with customers warmly, taking orders accurately and providing friendly, attentive service
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process transactions efficiently and accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food handling and food safety practices
- Assist in food preparation and serving snacks or light meals as needed
- Manage cash handling duties with basic math skills to ensure accurate cashiering and register balancing
- Uphold food safety standards, including proper food handling, sanitation, and adherence to health regulations
- Support inventory management by restocking supplies and monitoring product freshness
- Demonstrate excellent time management to handle busy periods effectively while maintaining quality service
Experience
- Previous barista experience or background in coffee service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to connect positively with diverse guests
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and accurate transaction processing
- Experience in food service or food industry roles that involve serving or food preparation is advantageous
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, including proper food handling and sanitation practices
- Ability to manage time effectively during high-volume periods while maintaining attention to detail
