Electric Motor Rewind Technician
Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Rewind Technician to join our team. In this role, you will diagnose, dismantle, and rewind electric motors, generators, and armatures. Your expertise will directly ensure our clients' heavy machinery and electromechanical equipment are restored to peak performance.
Core Responsibilities
· Diagnose Failures: Inspect incoming motors, generators, and armatures to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
· Dismantle Units: Take apart components, record original winding data, and safely remove damaged coils, insulation, and wire.
· Rewind Coils: Operate winding machines to create new coils, then wind and insert them into stators, rotors, or armatures according to exact technical specifications.
· Reassemble Equipment: Clean, bake, and dip components in insulating varnish before final reassembly.
· Quality Testing: Run performance and safety tests using surge testers, megohmmeters, and voltmeters to verify repairs.
Qualifications & Skills
· Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in electric motor repair or commercial winding.
· Technical Skills: Ability to accurately read technical blueprints, connection diagrams, and service manuals.
· Tools: Proficiency with standard hand tools, power tools, micrometers, and electrical test equipment.
· Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long shifts, and handle repetitive manual work.
· Education: High school diploma or equivalent; trade school certification in electrical or mechanical repair is a plus.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
