Harrogate Village is a seeking Per Diem Security Guards to work on call at our senior, upscale community.
Work availability is needed during the training period in order to get the selected candidate comfortable and acclimated to our community. Significant training is involved to learn the layout of the building, emergency procedures and our various alarm systems. Once trained, the per diem security guard will be per diem to occasionally fill in vacancies in the work schedule to cover time off request needs from our full time team members.
About the Position: Our security schedule is a 24/7 operation. Shifts are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. and 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. The Security Guard is responsible for protecting the people and property within our upscale continuing care retirement community in Ocean County. The position takes tour of the community, performs wellness checks of residents when requested, performs light maintenance tasks when needed including the breakdown and set up of activity functions and events. The Security Guard position requires dependability, a compassion to work with seniors and the ability to respond to emergencies quickly. This is NOT a sit down position nor security gate operations.
The Harrogate community consists of 252 independent living senior apartments plus a 68 skilled nursing facility. Harrogate is a home-like setting with co-workers that work as a team to ensure security coverage is met 24/7. Located on the border of Toms River and Lakewood, Harrogate offers a serene and comfortable work environment.
SORA certification a plus but not required. Experience in Security is not a requirement but helpful. Dependability is a MUST. CPR certification is required but not needed as a condition to hire as Harrogate sponsors the class generally twice a year. A NJ Driver's License in good standing IS required. Because we are a highly compromised community (including nursing home), influenza vaccination is required which we may provide on site during flu season.

Pay: $18.00 - $19.25 per hour
