Job Summary
Director of ABA Clinical Training - The Director of Professional development is responsible for ensuring high-quality, ethical, and evidence-based clinical services across the organization. This role provides clinical leadership, oversight of service delivery, and supervision of clinical staff while maintaining alignment with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and best practices in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). In partnership with the Director of Clinical Operations, this role ensures consistency, compliance, and excellence in clinical care, with a primary focus on staff training, mentorship, and professional development.
The director of Professional Development will be required to do billable hours, providing clinical supervision and oversight for assigned cases, including conducting assessments, developing and updating individualized treatment plans, supervising Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and Behavior Technicians (BTs), monitoring client progress through data analysis, conducting parent and caregiver training, and ensuring all services are delivered in compliance with BACB Ethics Code, payer requirements, and applicable state and federal regulations. Maintaining a small caseload enables the Director to remain actively engaged in direct clinical practice while serving as a clinical leader, mentoring staff, modeling best practices, and supporting the professional development of the organization's clinical team.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or a closely related field required.
- Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing required.
- Must hold a current Licensed Behavior Analyst (LABA) credential or other equivalent graduate-level professional credential in good standing, as required by applicable state regulations.
- Minimum of three (3) years of post-credential experience providing, supervising, or managing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- Experience in staff training, clinical mentorship, and program development is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Shared Clinical Director Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership to ensure high-quality, ethical, and effective ABA services.
- Oversee and support BCBAs in treatment planning, service delivery, and clinical decision-making.
- Ensure clinical services align with regulatory, payer, and organizational requirements.
- Monitor client outcomes and support data-driven decision-making across programs.
- Collaborate with leadership to support organizational growth and clinical excellence.
- Participate in regularly scheduled audits, reviews, and quality assurance activities.
‘Training & Development-Specific Responsibilities
- Conduct all new hire and onboarding training for RBTs and BTs within the company
- Design, implement, and oversee onboarding and ongoing training programs for BCBAs, Behavior Technicians (BTs), and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).
- Develop, update, and maintain clinical training curricula, training materials, competency assessments, and learning systems.
- Facilitate clinical trainings, workshops, case discussions, and peer collaboration opportunities.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to clinical staff.
- Monitor and support staff competency, treatment integrity, and clinical skill development.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and implement improvements based on organizational needs and quality assurance findings.
- Analyze clinical, operational, quality assurance, and performance data to identify trends, knowledge gaps, and areas for improvement, and develop targeted training initiatives to address identified needs.
- Currently hold, or be willing to obtain, Safety-Care Trainer certification.
- Monitor and schedule initial and recertification courses for Safety Care.
BCBA Clinical Oversight
- Provide ongoing supervision and professional development for BCBAs within the organization.
- Conduct clinical observations of face-to-face service delivery.
- Conduct monthly 1:1 meetings with BCBAs for case reviews and feedback on performance
- Complete required clinical audits, documentation reviews, and performance evaluations.
- Review and co-sign treatment plans and other clinical documentation as required.
- Support BCBAs in maintaining high standards of clinical quality, ethical practice, and compliance.
RBT Certification & Supervision Compliance
- Monitor Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification status and supervision requirements across the organization.
- Support BCBAs in ensuring RBTs receive and document supervision in accordance with BACB requirements.
- Track upcoming RBT certification renewals and supervision needs to promote ongoing compliance.
- Collaborate with BCBAs and leadership to identify Behavior Technicians (BTs) who are eligible to pursue RBT certification.
- Provide BTs with education, guidance, and resources regarding the RBT certification process.
- Ensure BTs are provided opportunities to complete competency assessments, supervision, and other requirements necessary to obtain and maintain RBT certification.
- Serve as the organization's clinical resource regarding BACB RBT certification and supervision requirements.
BACB Trainee Oversight
- Monitor and support BCBAs supervising BACB trainees completing fieldwork hours.
- Ensure trainee supervision experiences meet BACB requirements, documentation standards, and best practices.
- Provide guidance to supervisors regarding BACB fieldwork requirements and supervision quality.
Compliance & Training Administration
- Monitor completion of required funder, state, BACB, and organizational training requirements.
- Maintain training records, attendance logs, competency documentation, and continuing education records.
- Ensure all required training documentation is complete, accurate, and readily available for audits.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Attend leadership meetings and contribute to organizational planning and strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and organizational leadership to align training initiatives with workforce development and organizational goals.
- Partner with Quality Assurance, Clinical Operations, and other departments to identify training needs and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Promote a culture of learning, accountability, clinical excellence, and continuous professional growth throughout the organization.
Health and Safety Committee Member
- Analyze organizational operations to identify risks to health and safety.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to address identified health and safety risks.
- Investigate patient and staff complaints and grievances related to health and safety concerns.
- Monitor adherence to health and safety protocols to ensure procedural integrity.
- Review and update health and safety policies and procedures on an ongoing basis.
Pay: $82.00 - $87.00 per hour
