The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of multifamily and commercial construction projects throughout the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) region. This role manages projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The Project Manager works closely with Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients while supporting a wide range of project types including multifamily, mixed-use, office, retail, and institutional developments.
- Manage construction projects from preconstruction through completion and closeout.
- Oversee project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial performance.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved.
- Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contracts.
- Coordinate subcontractor procurement, scope reviews, and contract administration.
- Work closely with field teams to monitor progress, productivity, and jobsite challenges.
- Lead project meetings with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams.
- Ensure projects meet quality standards, safety requirements, and client expectations.
- Identify risks and implement solutions to maintain schedule and budget performance.
- Coordinate project closeout including punch lists, final documentation, and turnover.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
- Approximately 5+ years of experience working for a general contractor.
- Experience managing or supporting multifamily and/or commercial construction projects.
- Experience working within the DMV market is preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction processes including scheduling, budgeting, and subcontractor coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Experience managing project documentation such as RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Experience working on mixed-use, multifamily, office, or retail construction projects.
- Familiarity with negotiated work and repeat-client project environments.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
