Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including acute care, memory care, and medical-surgical units. This role is vital in ensuring high-quality patient care and assisting nursing staff in delivering effective healthcare services.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families during difficult times.
- Help with mobility and transportation of patients within the facility.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records systems such as Cerner.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to implement patient care plans effectively.
- Participate in the training of new staff members when necessary.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in acute care or memory care settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical-surgical practices and hospital medicine is a plus.
- Knowledge of anatomy and basic medical terminology.
- Experience working with children is advantageous but not required.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems (Cerner experience is desirable).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
