We are seeking a motivated and reliable Driver to join our logistics team, responsible for transporting freight efficiently and safely across various routes. Duties
- Operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Navigate routes using GPS systems to ensure timely delivery across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes and local delivery zones
- Load and unload freight safely using manual handling techniques and proper cargo securing methods, including logistics cargo handling for hazardous and dangerous goods
- Transport freight across long distances while complying with hazardous materials regulations and ensuring the secure transportation of sensitive or dangerous goods
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues, maintaining compliance with all trucking safety protocols
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and cargo manifests in accordance with FMCSA regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route changes, delivery schedules, or safety concerns
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements suitable for tractor-trailer operations, including Hazmat certification if applicable
- Proven experience in delivery driving, truck loading/unloading, and route driving within a logistics or freight environment
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and automobile transportation is preferred
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, DOT rules, and safety standards for commercial truck driving
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks comfortably and handle manual loading/unloading tasks efficiently
- Excellent navigation skills using GPS navigation systems for route planning and execution
- Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks related to cargo loading/unloading and vehicle inspections
