East Paris Surgical Center, LLC is seeking one full-time and one part-time Registered Nurse to work in our busy, state of the art, ambulatory surgical center. Our facility offers plastic, cataract, glaucoma, retinal and corneal surgery, as well as corneal transplants and ocular plastics. Our surgeons are among the most experienced and well-trained in their areas of expertise. The Center offers flexible schedules.
There are no weekend shifts, no holidays, and no call shifts. Experience in an outpatient surgical center is preferred, but not required. Must be able to multitask, be a team-player, and be flexible. The position would be rotating between: Pre-Op, Post-Op, and OR. We are looking for an RN who:
Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved professional (RN) nursing program; must possess a current Michigan license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Have experience in a preoperative setting is preferred, but are willing to train the right candidate.
- Have current C.P.R. certification - A.C.L.S. certification is recommended, but not required.
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when assisting in the planning and performing of professional nursing care, resolving patient care problems, and dealing with patients and families; often during stressful situations.
- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to interact with patients/families, other nursing staff members, physicians, and other Center personnel.
- Be expected to lift 25 pounds without assistance.
- Previous operating room experience is helpful, but not required.
- Previous operating room scrubbing experience is helpful, but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Present a professional image representing surgical services to patients and personnel.
- Acts as a patient advocate, maintains patient confidentiality, and promotes a safe environment for the patient.
- Work collaboratively and support efforts of team members.
- Performs or assists with procedures and treatments, medication administration, operates equipment and utilizes supplies according to established standards of care and nursing practice.
- Report to the ASC Director.
