Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Daycare Assistant to join our early childhood education team. In this role, you will support the daily operations of our childcare center, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster positive developmental experiences for young learners, while maintaining compliance with safety standards and licensing regulations. Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and outdoor activities to ensure safety and engagement
- Support classroom management by maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's daily experiences, progress, and any concerns
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures and mandated reporting laws
- Help with diapering, feeding, and basic childcare routines for infants and toddlers
- Participate in ongoing training related to child development instruction, behavior management, and early childhood education best practices
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or classroom settings is highly preferred
- Certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) is required or willing to obtain upon hire
- Strong communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a positive learning environment
- Passion for working with young children and supporting their growth through engaging activities
