About the Role
We are seeking experienced professionals with exceptional analytical judgment, intellectual curiosity, and strong independent research capabilities.
This is not a traditional desk-based research or consulting role. We are looking for individuals who can independently identify relevant information, develop lines of inquiry, engage knowledgeable sources, verify findings, and transform fragmented information into well-supported strategic insights.
Projects typically focus on technology, international business, industrial supply chains, cross-border commerce, public policy, and other issues with strategic commercial significance.
Successful consultants are comfortable working independently, navigating ambiguity, and producing objective, evidence-based analysis under tight timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent research and field inquiries using public, professional, and first-hand sources.
- Identify, approach, and communicate with industry experts, business professionals, practitioners, academics, and other knowledgeable stakeholders relevant to project objectives.
- Gather, validate, and cross-reference information from multiple sources to ensure accuracy, credibility, and completeness.
- Develop research strategies and pursue investigative leads independently rather than relying solely on predefined research questions.
- Monitor developments across technology, international business, industrial supply chains, trade, regulatory environments, and related sectors to identify emerging trends and strategic implications.
- Produce concise, well-structured written deliverables, including briefing notes, research memoranda, analytical reports, and executive summaries.
- Participate in virtual discussions with project teams when additional context or subject-matter expertise is required.
- Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical conduct.

Business & International Commerce
Professionals with experience in multinational corporations, international trade, chambers of commerce, supply chain management, market expansion, or cross-border business operations.
Technology & Industrial Sectors
Individuals with experience in semiconductors, artificial intelligence, telecommunications, advanced manufacturing, critical materials, aerospace, defense-related industries, energy, or other strategically important sectors.
Consulting & Advisory
Experience in management consulting, strategic advisory, commercial due diligence, market intelligence, risk consulting, policy research, or industry analysis.
Public Affairs & International Engagement
Experience working with regulatory bodies, international organizations, public institutions, diplomatic environments, or policy-related organizations is valued.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research with minimal supervision.
- Strong investigative mindset and excellent critical thinking skills.
- Experience identifying, evaluating, and verifying information from diverse sources.
- Confidence communicating with senior professionals and subject-matter experts.
- Excellent analytical writing and synthesis abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Native or professional-level English proficiency; additional language skills are a plus.

Engagement Model
Successful candidates will join our network of part-time Strategic Research Consultants. Rather than receiving fixed assignments, consultants are invited to participate in projects that match their expertise and availability. Assignments may involve industry research, stakeholder outreach, source verification, expert interviews, and strategic analysis. Compensation is determined based on project scope, complexity, and contribution.
