The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient patient care delivery in a medical office environment. Responsibilities include direct patient care, assisting providers with clinical tasks, preparing patients for examinations, and supporting front-office functions as needed. The Medical Assistant performs duties in accordance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and organizational policies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with patient care and procedures
Obtain and document patient vital signs and medical history in EMR (NextGen)
Explain procedures and treatments to patients to promote understanding and comfort
Administer medications and treatments as directed by provider and within certification scope
Observe and document patient conditions, reporting changes to provider promptly
Assist with patient education and discharge instructions as directed by provider
Schedule diagnostic tests and procedures ordered by provider
Answer and triage patient calls; address questions regarding tests, results, and medications; respond same day
Communicate professionally with physician offices, facilities, and vendors; coordinate external scheduling
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards at all times
Work cross-functionally to support clinic operations and maintain workflow
Travel to satellite locations as needed
Perform other duties as assigned

- Full-time, Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am to 5 pm
