In this role, you'll be responsible for safely transporting furniture and other goods using various types of vehicles, including box trucks and personal vehicles, while also assembling furniture on-site to ensure customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks, box trucks, or personal vehicles to deliver furniture and other items to customers’ locations.
- Load and unload goods efficiently using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Assemble furniture on-site according to provided instructions, ensuring quality and customer satisfaction.
- Follow established routes and driving schedules, maintaining adherence to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Use mobile devices for route navigation, delivery documentation, and communication with dispatch teams.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries and assembly, addressing any questions or concerns.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine safety checks before and after each shift to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in delivery driving, warehouse operations, or furniture assembly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving or courier services is a plus.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling, moving furniture, and working in various environments.
- Knowledge of safe lifting practices, weight handling in the workplace, and adherence to DOT regulations.
- Experience with route driving using mobile devices for navigation and delivery management.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude during interactions with clients.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions for furniture assembly and work independently in a fast-paced setting.
