Position Summary
The Facilities Maintenance & Janitorial Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of office, production, warehouse, and exterior areas while supporting general facility upkeep activities. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, works well independently, and demonstrates a strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Facility Cleaning & Housekeeping
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, locker rooms, offices, conference rooms, and common areas.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and maintain floors and surfaces throughout the facility.
- Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to designated collection areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional appearance throughout the facility.
Exterior Grounds Maintenance
- Pick up litter and debris around building entrances, sidewalks, parking lots, and exterior grounds.
- Sweep exterior walkways and maintain building entrances.
- Assist with snow and ice removal, including salting walkways and entrances during inclement weather.
Facility Support
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and notify management when replenishment is required.
- Safely use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and tools in accordance with company procedures.
- Assist with light facility maintenance tasks and special projects as assigned.
- Support workplace safety initiatives and maintain compliance with company housekeeping standards.
Qualifications
- Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb stairs throughout the workday.
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to safely work with cleaning chemicals, solvents, and cleaning equipment.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
