Medical Assistant- Front and Back Office ( Spanish and Armenian Speaking Preferred)
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This vital role combines front and back office responsibilities, ensuring seamless patient experiences from check-in to clinical support. Front Desk Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in and check -out procedures
- Manage administrative duties including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, data entry, and maintaining organized medical records
- Schedule appointments and manage patient phone calls
- Perform general administrative duties such as filing, faxing, copying, and managing office correspondence.
- Monitor provider schedules and help optimize appointment flow.
- Scan and upload insurance cards, IDs, referrals, and medical records into the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Obtain referrals and prior authorizations when required.
- Maintain accurate patient records in the EMR.
- Coordinate with providers and clinical staff regarding schedules and patient needs.
- Assist patients with forms and paperwork.
Back Office Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure they are clean, stocked, and ready for patients.
- Room patients and obtain vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, oxygen saturation, height, weight, BMI).
- Record chief complaints, medical history, medications, allergies, and review of systems in the EMR.
- Process prescription refill requests according to office protocols.
- Coordinate referrals, imaging, laboratory testing, and specialty appointments.
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant experience
- Minimum 1 year of front and/or back office experience
- Familiarity with EHR systems and medical
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically in diverse healthcare environments
- Demonstrated organizational skills to handle intake processes, vital signs collection, and documentation accurately
- Spanish or Armenian speaking preferred
