The Bangor School Department is currently accepting applications for English Language Learner (ELL) tutor positions for the 2025-2026 school year. Proof of Educational Technician III or Teacher Certification and CHRC approval through the Department of Education is required.

Certification as an English as a Second Language teacher, Certificate 660, preferred.

Experience providing instruction for English Learners preferred.
ELL tutors work with the population of students who are English Language Learners supporting students who require specialized instruction in English.

Tutorial is a temporary part time position with the district.

Allows for flexibility in scheduling:
Duties may include:

working one on one or with a small group of students
-
implementing instruction in a variety of subject areas with materials provided and organized by the classroom teacher and/or ELL teacher
-
communicating with teachers regarding student progress
-
providing weekly student updates
-
introducing new learning, pre-planned in collaboration with the classroom teacher and/or English language learner teacher

reviewing and reinforcing learning previously introduced by the teacher(s).
