Overview of the Position
A great promotional opportunity is available with the Probation/Pretrial Services Office for the Western District of Michigan. Applications are being accepted for an Intensive Supervision Specialist. The Intensive Supervision Specialist is responsible for the development and oversight of the district’s sex offender management program, including the investigation and supervision of sex offenders with high-risk issues, which often requires intensive supervision for offenders in this category. The incumbent serves as the in-house authority on matters relating to sex offenders and provides officer training in this area. Probation officer specialists must carry at least a 50 percent caseload, spending at least 50% of their time working with defendants and/or offenders. Priority consideration given to applications received by April 17, 2026.
