Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic CFC Attendant with American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency to provide dedicated support to individuals within the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) population. In this vital role, you will assist residents with daily living activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe, engaging environment. Duties
- Assist residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and maintain accurate documentation within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Support residents during meals by meal preparation, feeding assistance, and ensuring nutritional needs are met in a safe manner.
- Engage residents in social activities and communication using ASL to promote social interaction and cognitive engagement.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning routines and adherence to infection control standards.
- Support residents with behavioral management strategies tailored to individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments, including memory care techniques.
- Assist with transportation or driving duties for appointments or community outings as needed.
- Use proper techniques for heavy lifting and manual handling to ensure safety for both staff and residents during transfers or mobility assistance.
Experience
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in assisted living environments is highly preferred.
- Experience in direct care, social services, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills in ASL are essential to effectively support residents who are deaf or hard of hearing.
