Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document detailed requirements for data projects, reporting, and dashboard development.
- Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, and other reporting platforms to visualize complex data insights clearly.
- Conduct thorough analysis of business processes to identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and enhanced data integration using ETL processes and scripting languages like Python, VBA, Bash (Unix shell), and Talend.
- Manage the software development lifecycle (SDLC) for analytics projects from planning through deployment, ensuring adherence to best practices in project management and quality assurance.
- Develop robust data models and database designs utilizing SQL databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and SQL-based systems to support scalable analytics solutions.
- Perform data analysis using Excel data analysis techniques alongside advanced data analytics tools to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
- Facilitate requirements analysis sessions with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical specifications that support effective reporting and dashboarding solutions.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, data flows, system configurations, and user guides using Visio or similar tools for clarity and future reference.
Experience
- Proven experience as an IT Business Analyst or Data Analyst with a strong focus on business intelligence, analytics, or related fields.
- Extensive hands-on experience working with Tableau, Power BI, Looker or similar visualization tools for dashboard development.
- Deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process within an Agile environment.
- Strong proficiency in SQL querying (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle) along with experience in database design and query management.
- Skilled in ETL processes using Talend or similar tools for data integration from multiple sources including linked data environments.
- Technical proficiency in programming languages such as Python, VBA, Bash (Unix shell), with experience applying these skills to automate tasks or enhance analytics workflows.
- Familiarity with business analysis methodologies including requirements gathering, process modeling (Visio), and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of data visualization best practices combined with excellent analysis skills to interpret complex datasets effectively.
- Experience working with Data model design principles for scalable database solutions supporting enterprise analytics initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high-quality results.
