Overview
The Warehouse Assistant supports daily warehouse operations by handling inventory, preparing job orders, supporting the loading and unloading of materials and equipment; assist maintaining fleet inventory and maintenance schedules; maintaining a clean and organized workspace This role is essential for keeping the warehouse running smoothly and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Stock Management
- Label, organize, and maintain stock locations.
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming equipment and material shipments.
- Perform regular inventory counts and report discrepancies.
- Conduct checks to ensure products meet quality standards and report discrepancies or damage.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents to management.
- Keep the warehouse clean and organized, including proper disposal of waste and ensuring clear access to emergency exits.
- Assist with stocking shelves in the warehouse store and creating detailed lists of materials that need replenishment.
Shipping & Receiving
- Load and unload trucks using pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified).
- Verify packing lists, invoices, and shipping documents.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging and labeling.
Warehouse Operations
- Meet with installation teams members in morning or evening and check material in/out.
- Help assemble, package, and verify customer orders are complete prior to loading.
- Build installation kits for installation team members for field use and work with Warehouse Manager to replenish stock in a timely manner.
- Work with installation team members to replenish inventory stock for vehicles.
- Assist with fleet vehicle maintenance and ensure safe, operational vehicles are available.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
- Follow safety procedures and report hazards or equipment issues.
- Assist with general warehouse tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Equipment Use
- Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other warehouse tools.
- Use warehouse management systems for tracking inventory.
- Steel-toe boots and a hard hat must be worn when required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in warehouse or logistics preferred but not required.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and reliability.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Skills
- Forklift certification.
- Experience with shipping software or other warehouse management systems.
- Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
- Background in carpentry or a skilled trade.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- Handyman experience.
Work Environment
- Fast‑paced warehouse setting.
- Move between office and warehouse locations throughout the day.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Requires bending, lifting, and moving materials throughout the shift.
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
