Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Body Shop Estimator to join our automotive service team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for customers seeking collision repair estimates and will play a key part in ensuring smooth communication between customers, technicians, and insurance companies. Your expertise will help accurately assess vehicle damage, develop comprehensive repair plans, and provide exceptional customer service. Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to determine scope of repairs, including auto body repair, mechanical issues, and component replacements.
- Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates using auto estimating software, ensuring all necessary repairs such as transmissions, oil changes, alignments, suspensions, tire services, brake repairs, shocks & struts, air brakes, diesel engine repairs, and other automotive diagnostics are included.
- Communicate clearly with customers about repair procedures, costs, timelines, and available options to maximize upselling opportunities while maintaining transparency.
- Collaborate with technicians and insurance adjusters to ensure estimates align with repair needs and coverage requirements.
- Assist customers in understanding their vehicle’s condition
- Maintain organized records of estimates, repair orders, and customer interactions for seamless workflow management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dealership or auto service management with a strong background in auto estimating and service writing.
- Knowledge of automotive repair processes including bodywork, transmissions, oil changes, alignments, suspension systems, tire services, brake repairs, shocks & struts, air brakes, diesel engines, and automotive diagnostics.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with mechanic or service technician experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
- Familiarity with dealership operations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
