Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced 2nd shift Supervisor to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will hold a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and preferably possess an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE). This role involves creating a nurturing learning environment for children, implementing curriculum, and fostering developmental growth through engaging activities. The educator will work primarily during the evening shift, ensuring quality care and education for preschool and toddler-aged children in a supportive setting.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that align with educational standards and developmental needs
- Plan and execute engaging lesson plans focused on literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional skills
- Manage classroom activities to promote positive behavior management and effective classroom management strategies
- Provide individualized support for children with special education needs or early intervention requirements
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages exploration and learning
- Monitor child progress through observation and documentation; utilize standardized testing when appropriate
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding child development, milestones, and classroom activities
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the classroom in compliance with childcare regulations
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent implementation of educational programs and policies
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, curriculum development, and teaching strategies
- Provide leadership and supervise staff
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories and practices including Montessori methods and literacy education
- management experience in childcare facility
- Experience working with children across various age groups such as toddlers and preschoolers
- Proficiency in classroom management, lesson planning, and behavior management techniques
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs, including special education and early intervention programs
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and team members
- Experience with classroom experience in daycare or private school settings preferred
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and tutoring techniques
- Knowledge of teaching physical education activities suitable for young children
- Understanding of child welfare principles and best practices in childcare settings
