Lead Pastry Chef
A family-owned fine dining Northern Italian restaurant, is seeking an experienced and dependable Full-Time Pastry Chef to oversee the preparation and presentation of our desserts. Candidates must be committed to the schedule and demands of the position.
This is a hands-on, one-person pastry position. We seek someone who takes pride in consistency, organization, presentation, and quality, and who can independently manage the pastry department by preparing desserts and providing plating during lunch and dinner service.
Responsibilities
- Follow and prepare the established dessert menu with consistency and attention to detail.
- Prepare desserts for daily lunch and dinner service.
- Plate and finish desserts during both lunch and dinner service.
- Prepare desserts and pastries for private parties, banquets, and special events.
- Prepare elegant, simple, and consistent occasion cakes and other special-order desserts.
- Create one original dessert special each week, allowing room for creativity while maintaining the restaurant's standards and style.
- Maintain proper inventory of pastry ingredients and communicate ordering needs.
- Keep the pastry area clean, organized, sanitary, and properly stocked.
- Maintain appropriate food-handling and sanitation standards.
- Work efficiently and independently while maintaining quality and consistency during service.
- Coordinate with the restaurant's management regarding dessert specials, special events, and upcoming pastry needs.
What We're Looking For
- Previous professional pastry experience, preferably in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment (minimum of 7 years)
- Strong knowledge of pastry preparation, baking, dessert plating, and finishing.
- Ability to follow established recipes accurately while maintaining consistent results.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the pastry operation.
- Creative enough to develop weekly specials while understanding the importance of consistency and practicality.
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working both preparation and service shifts.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
- A professional attitude and commitment to quality.
Schedule
Monday–Friday: Lunch and dinner shifts
Saturday: Dinner shift only with early arrival for prep as needed.
The position is full-time and requires flexibility around restaurant service, private parties, and special events.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
