Job Overview
Assesses, coordinates, and evaluates the skilled care and services being provided. Ensures the delivery of quality care to designated patient groups through the use of the skilled care process, following established standards of care, policies, and procedures.
The Respiratory Therapist initiates the Plan of Care and any necessary revisions, maintaining responsibility for the overall care of the patient. They also implement appropriate measures to prevent disease exacerbation, promote safety, make referrals to rehabilitative services, and coordinate services delivered by other disciplines or organizations.
In addition, the Respiratory Therapist provides supervision and instruction to Delivery Coordinator(s) for both initial and ongoing training related to oxygen equipment use, setup, and maintenance.
The DME RT reports directly to the Manager of DME.

Working Conditions:
The position is mainly in the office but can include some deliveries to the home. Inside environmental changes are mainly those inside patient homes. Those can include temperature variations, smoke, unclean homes, various sizes and types of pits, and structural faults/barriers. Subject to frequent exposure to infection, contagious disease, and hazardous materials and equipment; to combative patients; dysfunctional families and varying relationships; variable noise levels; subject to rapid pace, multiple stimuli, unpredictable environment, and critical situations.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training
Minimum Field-of-Expertise:
Graduate of accredited program in Respiratory Therapy.
Evidence of continuing education appropriate for skill level and area of practice.
Business management experience but not required.
Required Certification/Registration:
- Current state license or certification (as applicable)
- CPR certification
- Valid California driver’s license
- Proof of current auto insurance
Other:
Ability to provide care that is sensitive to the patient’s age, culture, physical needs, and psychosocial well-being. Bilingual (English-Spanish) strongly preferred. Must be comfortable working with culturally diverse populations.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $40.00 - $42.00 per hour
