Outdoor Lighting Design · Residential · Commercial · Subdivision · Greensboro, NC
We're looking for a personable, organized Lighting Designer to formulate and design outdoor lighting plans for residential, business, and subdivision customers in the Greensboro area. You'll work directly with the public, conduct site visits, identify utility infrastructure, and translate customer needs into lighting designs that meet company standards — balancing intermittent days in the field and the office throughout the week.
What you'll do
- Meet with the public to discuss lighting demands for residential, commercial, and subdivision projects
- Conduct site visits to assess customer lighting needs and identify utility infrastructure
- Formulate and design outdoor lighting plans in compliance with company standards and guidelines
- Stake poles, flag routes, and carry equipment on-site — considerable walking required
- Communicate effectively with clients, customers, construction crews, and other agencies
- Manage customer complaints and find practical resolutions in a professional manner
- Balance and maintain schedules between office design work and field assignments
What you need
- Basic knowledge of electrical fundamentals
- Strong communication and customer service skills — you'll be the face of the company to clients and the public
- Ability to perform physical field work — walking long distances, carrying equipment, staking poles, and flagging routes
- Ability to manage competing schedules and balance field and office responsibilities
Nice to have
- MicroStation proficiency — highly recommended
- Microsoft Excel and Word
- DocuSign experience
- 2–4 year degree in a related field — highly encouraged but not required
