Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as an IV Infusion Nurse. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality outpatient infusion therapies and managing patient care throughout the treatment process.
Duties
Duties & Responsibilities
- Initiate and manage intravenous access, including peripheral IVs, PICC lines, and midlines.
- Administer medications, biologics, fluid therapy, and blood products safely.
- Monitor patient status continuously during infusions to catch potential complications early, as outlined by NCBI clinical standards.
- Evaluate fluid and electrolyte balance to avoid complications like fluid overload.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, potential side effects, and home care.
- Document clinical notes accurately within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered RN License in the state of practice.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Minimum 1–2 years of strong clinical experience in IV therapy, ICU, ER, or oncology, matching optimal hiring standards found on Indeed Career Advice.
- CRNI certification (Certified Registered Nurse Infusion) is highly preferred but not required.
- Expertise in peripheral IV insertion and central line management.
- Strong communication skills to comfort and guide patients during long treatment sessions.
