The Kidder Creek Assistant Cook is responsible for assisting the Head Cook at Ranch Camp or Timberline in all aspects of preparing meals for guests and staff at Kidder Creek (“KC”) in a safe manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.
The Kidder Creek Assistant Cook position is a Ministerial Support staff position. Ministerial Support staff serve in operational and service support roles and are not required to personally affirm MHA’s Christian mission, vision and beliefs. However, it is expected that staff who fill these roles – no matter their personal beliefs - respect, work in harmony with, and not undermine MHA’s Christian mission, vision and beliefs. All staff are expected to join gatherings, which includes prayer, worship, and Bible-centered teaching.
Key Job Accountabilities:
Complete menu as provided and instructed by the Cook at Ranch Camp or Timberline.
Pull, prepare, serve and store food in accordance with food handling procedures to ensure safe, nutritious meals for guests’ enjoyment and to prevent food spoilage and/or foodborne illness.
Assist in instructing summer staff/students about prepping, serving, clean up, and dishwashing methods.
Other duties as assigned by the Cook and/or the Food Service Coordinator.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to lift 35-50 lbs. This job may require lifting and carrying cases of canned goods, sacks of dry product, etc.
Ability to stand for long periods.
Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in MHA’s Mission, Vision, Values and Commitment statements.
Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
Flexibility in location: during times when assigned kitchen does not have meals to prepare, this person may be asked to work at one of the other kitchens or other areas of ministry.
Satisfactory completion of background investigation, or valid work permit, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
