ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Performs maintenance on repair, preventive, replacement, and new installation basis.

Coordinates work of maintenance department with other department functions so as not to interrupt patient care of normal business functions.

Inspects all equipment and systems regularly for proper function and safety.

Inspects building and grounds regularly for compliance with local codes, ordinances, and safety regulations.
-
Attends in-services and staff meetings.
-
Performs duties concerned with electricity, plumbing, painting, carpentry, mechanics, and heating, cooling, and water systems.
-
Performs those duties concerned with maintenance of grounds, parking lots, and driveways, to include: gardening, landscaping, clean-up, mowing, and snow removal.

Lifts and moves heavy furniture and equipment.
-
Engraving door plates.
-
On-call as needed/take emergency calls.
-
Work weekends and/or Holidays as needed.

Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work.

Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.

Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts.

Communicate to leadership upon witnessing a positive outcome of a QAPI project or detecting barriers preventing project success.

Support QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally (i.e., via actions and attitude), including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Performs heavy custodial duties, such as: scrubbing and buffing, cleaning of storage and utility areas, washing walls/ceilings/outside windows, changing light bulbs in ceiling fixtures, housekeeping duties in high places and removal and disposal of garbage and trash.

Runs errands
-
Handles incoming and outgoing freight.

Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Designee including Housekeeping, Laundry duties as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must stand and walk inside and outside in all weather conditions.

Stoops, kneels, bends, pushes, pulls, and climbs.

Heaving lifting and moving required.
QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Must be able to follow written and oral directions.

Ability to communicate and cooperate effectively with a variety of people.

Personal cleanliness and good grooming habits.

Must have a sense of responsibility and be able to work without direct supervision.

Adequate physical and mental health to perform the essential functions of this position.

Ability to carry out programs in repair and new construction and installation.

Knowledge of supplies and equipment used by department and the care of this equipment.
