As we grow, we're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to help design and refine the next generation of our products.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Engineer at Xcalliber Transmission, you'll play a key role in the design, analysis, and continuous improvement of transmission and drivetrain components. You'll work cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and testing teams to bring products from concept to production, ensuring they meet performance, durability, and cost targets.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for transmission/drivetrain systems using 3D CAD software
- Perform engineering calculations and analysis (stress, fatigue, thermal, gear/tooth loading, tolerance stack-ups)
- Create and maintain detailed drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications
- Support prototyping, bench testing, and validation of new designs
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for design or field issues
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are optimized for machining, assembly, and cost
- Work with suppliers on component sourcing, specifications, and quality requirements
- Support production troubleshooting and provide engineering input on the shop floor as needed
- Maintain engineering documentation and change control (ECOs/ECNs)
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)
- Solid understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and machining/manufacturing processes
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
