POSITION OVERVIEW
Desert Champions is hiring for a Seasonal Line Cook for NOBU - Indian Wells., a world-renowned Japanese restaurant. This fast-paced position will be responsible for preparing and cooking from scratch, following recipes precisely and efficiently. Position requires professionalism as well as the proper tools to perform the job.
All applicants for this position must be available to work during the 2026 WTA Finals and the 2027 BNP Paribas Open Season

Must be available at least 3 shifts per week, through February

Must adhere to an agreed upon, open availability from November 8, 2026, through November 15, 2026, and February 28, 2027, through March 14, 2027
- Position may be extended through May 2027
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- In the NOBU style welcome every guest in a kind and courteous manner and ensure a smooth and memorable dining experience *
- Follow established policies and procedures, including safety and sanitation, to ensure safe, high-quality food is provided *
- Prepare food items including chopping vegetables, making sauces and butchering meat *
- Prepare food items to order following established recipes and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety *
- Prepare hot and cold food items (entrees, soups, salads, etc.) following established recipes for all meal services and special events *
- Clean work areas and all equipment used in food preparation *
- Attend all mandatory meetings and trainings; maintain certifications *

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- At least 1-year experience, as a line cook, in a fast-paced food service setting
- Knowledge of weights, measures, and recipe yields
- Culinary training, course work, or equivalent experience highly preferred
- Prior knowledge of meats, fishes, sauces, and vegetables
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and OTHER ABILITIES

- Remain calm under pressure and maintain a positive attitude
- Understanding of restaurant etiquette
