Join our dedicated team as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (Must have active certification), where you will serve as a vital connector and supporter for individuals navigating behavioral health and recovery journeys. Shift
M-F 10am-6pm
Duties
- Provide peer-led support by sharing personal recovery experiences to motivate and empower clients.
- Conduct crisis intervention and crisis management to de-escalate situations and ensure safety.
- Develop trusting relationships through mentoring, active listening, and motivational interviewing techniques.
- Assist clients in navigating behavioral health services, including mental health counseling and addiction treatment programs.
- Document interactions accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while maintaining confidentiality.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Educate clients about coping strategies, community resources, and relapse prevention methods.
- Facilitate Peer groups
- All other duties as required within the scope of the job
Requirements
- Proven lived experience with behavioral health challenges or addiction recovery, recognized through certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist.
- Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist from an approved organization or agency.
- Strong skills in crisis intervention and crisis management to handle urgent situations effectively.
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles, mental health counseling techniques, and addiction counseling strategies.
- Experience mentoring individuals through recovery processes with compassion and patience.
- Familiarity with social work practices and motivational interviewing methodologies.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation purposes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and foster trust.
