JEI Learning Center is more than an after-school learning center—we are a place where students build confidence, strengthen academic foundations, and develop a lifelong love of learning. We provide individualized instruction for students from Pre-K through 10th grade using JEI's proven curriculum in Math, English, Reading & Writing, and Critical Thinking.
We are seeking an exceptional Lead Instructor who is passionate about education and enjoys working with children. This role is ideal for someone who has strong teaching ability, excellent communication skills, and the leadership potential to grow into a Center Manager position.
The ideal candidate is someone who naturally connects with students, knows how to create an engaging learning environment, communicates well with families, and is interested in taking on increasing responsibilities as the center grows.
The Ideal Candidate

- Has the potential and interest to grow into a Center Manager role.
Responsibilities
- Provide engaging and effective instruction using JEI's individualized curriculum.
- Guide students through JEI workbooks and help them develop strong academic skills.
- Help students understand concepts rather than simply complete assignments.
- Assist students with homework and school test preparation when appropriate.
- Monitor student progress and provide individualized support.
- Encourage students and create a positive, motivating learning environment.
- Maintain classroom safety, organization, and appropriate student behavior.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and learning needs.
- Keep classrooms clean, organized, and ready for instruction.
- Follow center policies and support daily center operations.
- Take on additional leadership responsibilities as experience and performance grow.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher (Teaching Credential preferred but not required).
- Previous teaching, tutoring, or classroom experience preferred.
- Ability to teach Math, Reading, and Writing from kindergarten through 10th grade.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create a positive and productive learning environment.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and management skills.
- Patient, friendly, enthusiastic, and attentive to students.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and professional.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Prior experience in team leadership, staff supervision, or education program management is a plus.
Schedule
- Flexible schedule: approximately 3–15 hours per week.
- Typical hours:
- Monday–Thursday: 3:00 PM–6:00 PM
- Saturday: 10:00 AM–12:00 PM
Additional hours may become available as enrollment grows.
Compensation & Growth Opportunity
Pay: $22.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, teaching ability, and experience.
This position offers a clear pathway for growth. Instructors who demonstrate exceptional teaching skills, leadership ability, strong management skills, and excellent communication with students and families may have the opportunity to advance into a Center Manager role with increased responsibilities and compensation.
