Duties
- Support HVAC technicians in installing new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems according to schematics and design plans
- Assist with routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment such as boilers, refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, and ammonia refrigeration systems
- Help troubleshoot mechanical issues using tools like ohmmeters and welding equipment to diagnose problems accurately
- Aid in the repair and replacement of plumbing components related to HVAC systems and property maintenance tasks
- Participate in the inspection of HVAC systems using technical schematics and HVAC/R (refrigeration) knowledge to ensure proper operation
- Assist with field service tasks including appliance repair, equipment repair, and system testing to uphold high standards of service quality
- Support safety protocols during all operations, including handling refrigerants and working with mechanical components
Skills
- Basic understanding of construction principles related to HVAC installation and maintenance
- Prior service technician or field service experience preferred for quick adaptation
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design plans effectively
- Knowledge of plumbing, refrigeration, air conditioning systems, and ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge including boiler operation, equipment repair, welding skills, and property maintenance experience
- Familiarity with HVAC/R systems including air conditioning units and refrigeration components
- Proficiency with tools such as ohmmeters for electrical diagnostics and other mechanical repair tools
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record; experience driving <PERSON> vehicles preferred
- Ability to work safely in environments involving refrigerants like ammonia and other hazardous materials
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance challenges
