Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team and oversee all aspects of kitchen operations. Duties
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on collaboration, efficiency, and high performance.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency with menu standards and customer expectations.
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and minimizing waste to optimize food costs.
- Develop and plan menus that reflect culinary trends while maintaining operational feasibility and profitability.
- Enforce food safety sanitizing procedures, proper handling practices, and compliance with health regulations to guarantee a safe dining environment.
- Coordinate catering events and banquet services, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality cuisine for large groups or special occasions.
- Monitor shift operations, manage staffing schedules, and ensure smooth workflow during busy periods.
- Implement cost control measures while maintaining the quality of ingredients and dishes served.
- Conduct regular training sessions on food industry best practices, including food production techniques and hospitality standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service management with a strong background in restaurant or fine dining environments.
- Supervising experience in a fast-paced kitchen setting with demonstrated leadership skills.
- Extensive culinary experience including food preparation, cooking techniques, menu planning, and food management.
- Knowledge of dietary department procedures and catering operations is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems, cost control strategies, and food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Strong understanding of kitchen management principles such as shift management, inventory control, and team supervision.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Experience in banquet service, hospitality settings, or managing large-scale catering events is preferred.
- Certifications related to food safety (such as ServSafe) are advantageous; a passion for culinary arts and serving others is essential.
