Job Description: Health and Wellness Director Specialist

Position Summary:
The Health and Wellness Specialist is a leadership support position and serves as acting Wellness Director in community absence of the Wellness Director. The Health and Wellness Specialist supports ongoing training to Wellness Directors as well as implementation of company wide initiatives and programs.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Partner with Regional Compliance nurse to monitor and assist with clinical challenges as needed.
2. Overall supervision of all Wellness team members at appointed community, including but not limited to training, performance management, coaching, motivating and evaluating.
3. Overall implementation, delivery, and coordination of resident services at appointed community.
4. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in appointed community. Responsibilities include supporting the appointed community by interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and discipling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
5. Coordinate, along with Executive Director, family/resident care conference and serves as a direct liaison between residents, families, and staff at appointed community.
6. Assess potential residents for Assisted Living/Memory Care level of care utilizing assessment tool at appointed community. This may involve assessing potential residents in their home or another healthcare setting; must be able to drive to location and perform assessment professionally and timely if necessary.
7. Ensure compliance with all state regulatory requirements including mandatory reporting to State Regulatory Body at appointed community.
8. Ensure that all incident reports are completed, filed, and that follow-up is conducted appropriately at appointed community.
9. Ensure that all staff follow established safety regulations, including fire protection, infection control, blood borne pathogens, hazardous waste, and quality assurance programs at appointed community.
10. Provides oversight with medication management to assure eMAR’s are correct and that the residents receive medications timely and accurately at appointed community.
11. Provides marketing support within the community by participating in tours and discussions with potential residents and their families about clinical needs of the prospect at appointed community.
12. Work in conjunction with residents attending physician to make certain highest quality of service is being provided at the appointed community.
13. Investigate all complaints, grievances, and incidents and work with the Executive Director concerning appropriate responses and corrective actions at appointed community.
14. Creates positive employee relations through staff appreciation programs, recognition of excellent performance, and retention through regular feedback systems and promotional incentive programs at appointed community.
15. Provide written and oral reports to the Executive Director and Regional Compliance Nurse concerning the operation of the Wellness Department at appointed community.
16. Ensure adequate supplies and equipment is available to meet the day-to-day operational needs of the Wellness Department of appointed community.
17. Requires 24/7 on-call clinical support for appointed community
