Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily cleaning activities during the mid-shift hours, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to standard.
- Lead, motivate, and support a team of cleaning staff, providing clear instructions and fostering a positive work environment.
- Conduct regular inspections of assigned areas to verify cleanliness, safety compliance, and proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies, laundry items, and custodial materials; place orders as needed to maintain stock levels.
- Train new team members on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and company policies related to janitorial services.
- Oversee specialized cleaning tasks such as carpet cleaning, window washing, laundry operations, and restroom sanitation.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by implementing proper procedures for handling chemicals and equipment.
- Document shift activities through reports and logs; communicate any issues or incidents promptly to management.
- Collaborate with other departments such as hospitality or housekeeping to coordinate comprehensive cleaning schedules.
- Promote a culture of excellence by setting high standards for cleanliness and customer service within the team.
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning, custodial work, or janitorial services with a strong understanding of commercial or hospitality environments.
- Previous supervising or leadership experience in a cleaning or housekeeping setting is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of management principles related to staff supervision, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
- Expertise in various cleaning techniques including general sanitation, laundry services, carpet care, window washing, and restroom maintenance.
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for quality assurance inspections.
- Strong communication skills to lead teams effectively and coordinate with other departments.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations relevant to custodial work; ability to train staff on these protocols.
