Component Overhaul Services, Corp. is seeking a motivated Hydraulics Mechanic Assistant to support our Hydraulics Department in the inspection, disassembly, cleaning, repair, assembly, and testing of aircraft hydraulic components.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is currently studying aviation maintenance and is looking to gain hands-on experience in an FAA repair station environment. Preference will be given to candidates currently attending George T. Baker Aviation Technical College or another aviation maintenance program who have a strong interest in further developing their skills and building a long-term career in the aviation industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist experienced hydraulic mechanics with the disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and assembly of aircraft hydraulic components
- Clean and prepare aircraft parts and components for inspection and repair
- Assist with the use of hand tools, measuring equipment, and basic shop equipment
- Learn to follow technical manuals, work instructions, and company procedures
- Properly identify, handle, and protect aircraft parts and components
- Complete required paperwork and production documentation
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition
- Follow all company quality, safety, and FAA requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Hydraulics Leadman or management
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an aviation maintenance program, preferably at George T. Baker Aviation Technical College, is highly preferred
- Strong interest in aviation maintenance and a desire to continue learning and developing technical skills
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn from experienced mechanics
- Previous aviation, automotive, hydraulic, mechanical, or hands-on technical experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to work with hand tools and basic shop equipment
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail
- Dependable attendance and ability to work well as part of a team
- Interest in building a long-term career in aircraft component repair and maintenance
Schedule
Monday through Friday
7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Candidates must be able to work the required schedule while balancing any current school commitments.
Compensation
Starting pay is based on experience, education, and qualifications.
