A well-established healthcare organization on Long Island’s South Fork is seeking a full-time Hospitalist to join its inpatient medicine team. This hospital serves as the primary emergency and inpatient care provider for the surrounding East End communities and is part of a larger, highly integrated regional health system with a strong reputation for quality care and clinical collaboration.

Providers work closely with emergency departments, specialists, and multidisciplinary care teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
The Hospitalist will provide comprehensive care to both observation and inpatient populations, managing admissions from the emergency department and internal referrals. Responsibilities include daily patient rounding, developing and implementing treatment plans, coordinating care with consulting services, and ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record. Participation in shift sign-out is essential to maintain continuity of care.
In addition to clinical responsibilities, providers will have the opportunity to engage in teaching and mentorship of medical trainees, contributing to a collaborative and education-focused environment. The organization emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient education, and teamwork to support optimal outcomes.
This position follows a block schedule of 24 weeks of day shifts annually, with shifts running 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (Tuesday through Monday blocks). There are additional opportunities to earn extra income through optional night shift coverage and per diem shifts outside of scheduled weeks.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Eligible for or active New York State medical license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Board Certification in Hospital Medicine
- Active DEA registration
- Two or more years of hospitalist experience
- Strong bedside manner and collaborative approach
- Willingness to live within commuting distance of the hospital
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary range: $320,000 – $350,000 for 24 weeks of day shifts annually
- Additional compensation for night shift coverage
- Per diem rates available for extra shifts outside contracted weeks
