Hildebran Medical Clinic is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our growing family medicine practice. This position involves both direct patient care and administrative responsibilities to support our providers and ensure an outstanding patient experience.
Essential Responsibilities Clinical Duties
- Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for evaluation.
- Obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical history, medications, allergies, and chief complaints.
- Prepare examination rooms and maintain adequate medical supplies.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and procedures.
- Administer injections, immunizations, and medications as permitted by certification and state regulations.
- Perform EKGs, vision testing, and other office procedures.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and perform CLIA-waived laboratory testing.
- Sterilize and maintain medical instruments according to infection control standards.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, and preventive health measures.
- Process prescription refill requests according to provider protocols.
- Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, and follow-up appointments.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
Administrative Duties
- Answer patient telephone calls professionally and accurately document messages.
- Obtain prior authorizations for medications, imaging, and procedures.
- Complete insurance forms and other clinical documentation.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of medical supplies.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and participate in team meetings.
QualificationsRequired
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent nationally recognized certification.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn electronic health record systems.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
Preferred
- Minimum of one year of experience in a primary care or family medicine setting.
- Experience with electronic health records.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
