Position Overview
A&S Steel Contractors is seeking a hardworking and reliable Miscellaneous Steel Worker with a valid CDL license to join our company. This position involves a combination of shop fabrication, field installation, material handling, and commercial driving responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working both in the shop and on job sites throughout the New York metropolitan area.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate, assemble, and install miscellaneous steel items including:
- Railings
- Stairs
- Ladders
- Structural supports
- Decorative and architectural metals
- Load, secure, transport, and deliver steel materials and fabricated products to job sites.
- Operate company trucks in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Assist with field installations and site logistics.
- Maintain equipment, vehicles, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Work closely with project managers, shop personnel, and field crews to ensure successful project completion.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class B License required.
- Experience in steel fabrication, welding, ironwork, construction, or related trades preferred.
- Ability to read tape measures, shop drawings, and fabrication details.
- Experience operating forklifts, boom lifts, or other construction equipment is a plus.
- OSHA certifications are a plus.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to perform both driving and hands-on steel work.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varying weather conditions.
