American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring 3 years of critical care experience and an active IN or Compact RN license.

Work in the ICU of a hospital setting
-
Patient ratio of 1:2
-
Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
-
Every third weekend required
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals for all travelers
-
Cerner charting system used
-
Active IN or Compact RN license required and must be in hand prior to start date
-
Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required
-
Current certifications required: ACLS and BLS
-
NIHSS certification preferred
-
Cerner charting experience preferred
-
Skills in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration
-
Experience with ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, and interpretation of ABGs
-
Experience managing patients with acute/chronic renal failure and CRRT/CVVHD
-
Experience with cardiac drip titration and dysrhythmia management
-
Experience with neurological conditions including CVA, EVD, ICP monitoring, and TBI
-
Nursing degree from a college or university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation

Two supervisor references required for consideration

SSN and DOB required for consideration

Provide critical care nursing to patients in a Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU setting
-
Care for patients requiring respiratory, renal, neurological, and cardiac interventions
-
Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and failure
-
Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays

Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval

Any current or former IU Health perm or PRN employee must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler

Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility (90 days for out-of-state residents, 180 days for in-state residents)
