Job Overview
Angelica Martinez Family Practice is looking for a reliable, professional, and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our growing family practice team.
We are seeking someone who is a team player, organized, dependable, and comfortable working in both the front and back office. The ideal candidate takes pride in providing excellent patient care while helping the clinic operate efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medication lists, and medical histories
- Assist the provider with examinations and procedures
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment
- Perform and document EKGs, injections, specimen collection, and other clinical duties as trained
- Assist with medication refills and communicate with pharmacies when needed
- Assist with referrals, prior authorizations, and obtaining medical records
- Perform laboratory testing and specimen handling according to office protocols
- Enter accurate patient information and documentation into the EMR
- Assist with scheduling, patient calls, and other front-office duties as needed
- Communicate professionally with patients, pharmacies, vendors, and other healthcare professionals
- Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and clinic policies
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Help maintain an efficient patient flow throughout the clinic
- Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff
Experience
- Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
- Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to multitask in a busy family practice
- Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation
- Professional, dependable, and punctual
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Comfortable communicating with patients, pharmacies, vendors, and healthcare professionals
- EMR experience preferred (eClinical Works experience is a plus)
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
