Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, skilled Commercial Roofer to join our team immediately. This is a dedicated, hands-on, non-union crew position for a flat roof specialist. Please note: This is an experienced production role, not a foreman position or a trainee role. We need someone who is proficient with flat-roof systems to jump right into ongoing projects alongside our commercial team.
Please note: This position includes a 3-month probationary period with a performance evaluation to assess skills, punctuality, and jobsite safety compliance for a permanent role.
What You Will Do (Responsibilities):
- Commercial System Installation: Install flat roofing systems, including TPO, EPDM, and Modified Bitumen systems.
- Seaming & Detail Work: Professionally execute field seaming, flashing details, pipe boots, curb wraps, and termination bars according to manufacturer specifications.
- Tear-offs & Insulation: Tear off failed commercial roofs and properly layout tapered insulation systems, cover boards, and vapor barriers.
- Safety & Clean-Up: Adhere to all company safety policies, maintain clean staging areas, and carefully protect commercial properties and vehicles below the roofline.
What We Look For (Requirements):
- Experience: At least 1 year (Required). 3+ years of hands-on commercial flat roofing experience (Preferred).
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly, ascend/descend commercial tall ladders and scaffolding safely, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliability: Must have dependable transportation to our Hackensack location.
- Safety Mindset: Firm commitment to safety, including appropriate use of personal fall arrest systems (harnesses, safety lines) and perimeter warning lines.
